David Felipe Acosta Rojas, Colombia (Class of 0)

As an architect, I am interested in exploring the cultural and social dynamics that take place in different scales of places. Being involved with cultural institutions during my career, I have been aware of the value of heritage as a resource for the empowerment of societies. I believe that recognizing diverse narratives provides communities with the agency to participate in the sustainable development of their living environment and to protect the legacy of their cultural knowledge.

I am very excited to explore these ideas in the Dual Degree Programme at BTU and Deakin. It is an opportunity to study heritage through a comprehensive approach, in addition to learning from the diverse backgrounds of my fellow students and the experience of living abroad.
