This internship aims to give an emerging conservator practical experience of working with collections in a historic house with a focus on embedding long term, sustainable preventive conservation practices at the site. The placement will centre around preventive conservation at Marble Hill House as the house reopens to visitors for the first time in over three years; providing experience of working alongside the Collections Conservators and Collections Care Assistants who work at Marble Hill as well as other English Heritage properties across Greater London. The intern will gain practical experience and knowledge of preventive conservation including conservation housekeeping; environmental monitoring and data analysis; insect pest management and emergency planning.
